Oral presentation by Dr. Clara Hohmann

The 8th Europe Congress of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) took place in Lisbon from the 4th to the 7th of June 2024. It was organized by the Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) of Portugal.  441 participants from 39 countries from a diverse spectrum of disciplines attended the conference. In the session “Climate change and water management” Dr. Clara Hohmann gave an oral presentation on the topic “Flash flood risk assessment in data scarce regions vulnerable to climate change: Hydrological lessons learnt from Jordan”. The presentation gave insights into the scenario approach within the CapTain Rain project and showed results of the hydraulic and hydrological models for different rainfall and land cover conditions. The presentation was a joined work of Koblenz University, itwh, PIK and ISOE. The presentation received high interest and positive feedbacks from the audience.
